Hi guys! My name is Nikki, I’m a sophomore at Binghamton University, and I’m a Campus Bound Scholar. One of the biggest struggles first generation college students face is paying for their tuition. Financial aid only covers so much. I have been fortunate enough to attend my freshman and sophomore year of college for free (no loans!) with the help of numerous scholarships. I’d love to help you guys out with some tips and strategies for saving money for college and landing scholarships. Here is one simple thing you can do now at the start of fall semester to improve your financial status: check out College Greenlight (collegegreenlight.com) and Fastweb (fastweb.com) and create a profile. These websites are a great way to get started on applying for scholarships for as early as your spring semester.
Please post your questions to me on our Campus Bound Scholars FB page or email me at ncaruso1@binghamton.edu.
